Depart from your home Airport for an overnight flight to Catania-Fontanarossa Airport
May 8
Monday May 8 Arrival and welcome to CATANIA International Airport and greeted by Eszter and Alfred to begin your Sicilian adventure. Private Transfer to Sicilia Residence . Eszter will “show you around” the immediate area. You’ll visit the green-grocer, the market, pharmacy, and two cafe’s located within a stone’s throw away. Later in the evening, we’ll enjoy a Special Sicilian Welcome Dinner

Tuesday May 9th. After breakfast we’ll tour CATANIA, the city of Black and White. We’ll have a guided tour of the Piazza Duomo, the famous fish market, and walk the famed Via Etnea . Dinner at Sicilia Antica
May 10
Wednesday May 10th Breakfast at hotel then depart to the Feast of Saint Alfio to witness one of Sicily's finest festivals. You will visit the Sanctuary of Saint Alfio, visit the Hall of miracles and watch the spectacle of the three saints being paraded on the " vara”. Lots of street foods for you to enjoy as well Then we are off to our favorite vineyard for a great wine tasting followed by a great home made meal.
May 11
Thursday May 11 Rest in the morning! Breakfast at the Residence. In late morning, we will venture off to see two of the most important cities in ancient Greater Greece, SIRACUSA and ORTYGIA in the Province of Siracusa. Once the most powerful city state in antiquity, today you will walk the quaint streets, see the Duomo, visit another market, and experience life as it was two millennia ago. In the evening, we will have an authentic Sicilian dinner.

Friday May 12th Breakfast at the Residence then off to TAORMINA in the Province of Messina, the Pearl of Europe, later we will visit the Port of Naxos with its own charm and beauty. You will enjoy Taormina with a panoramic view that will blow you away. Dinner that evening at “Il Nespolo” for dinner with amazing ambiance.

May 13
Breakfast then travel to Caltagiorne known for its hand made ceramics. For those in shape the 142 step staircase Santa Maria del Monte will lead you to the top of the town with majestic views of the valley and along the way you can enjoy many ceramics shops. Dinner in downtowns Catania
May 14
Depart 10 am Breakfast at the Residence then off to TAORMINA, the Pearl of Europe, but first we will visit the Port of Naxos where the Greeks first arrived is 734 BC. Dinner La Botte in Taormina.
May 15
Breakfast at the hotel. Day trip to Agrigento and Valley of Temples. After breakfast we will travel to Agrigento and the Valley of Temples. It is one of the most outstanding examples of Greater Greece art and architecture, and is one of the main attractions of Sicily as well as a national monument of Italy. The area was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in 1997. Dinner at a local restaurant Late lunch with chef Anneleisa Pompei
May 16
Breakfast off to Mount Etna Day. we depart to ETNA! We
will visit Refuge Sapienza where you can this most special volcano in all her splendor. We will then visit the Sicilian Cart museum in Trecastagni and have early home made dinner at Giuseppe Giufrida’s grand villa .
May 17
After breakfast relax and then early afternoon tour of Acitrezza, home of the volcanic Faraglione rocks and Aci Castello, the Arab Norman Castle. We will then have dinner in Acitrezza.
PART TWO - Grand Tour of East Coast of Sicily continue!
May 18
After breakfast day tour of Avola and then head to the Province of Ragusa and Scicli. The town situated on a hill is filled with Baroque palaces and churches and is the site for the popular Commissioner Montalbano series. Dinner in Avola
May 19
After breakfast day tour to Ragusa and Modica in the
Province of Ragusa. The two towns are of immense importance for their Baroque architecture and are UNESCO World Heritage Sites and yes the chocolates are unforgettable. Dinner in Avola
May 20
After breakfast at the Residence, we are off to NOTO and the famous Flower Festival known as The Infiorata - it will make your jaw drop! Set against the backdrop of perhaps one of the finest Baroque cities in Sicily, you will have time to stroll around and take in the sights and sounds. Dinner at hotel
May 21
Breakfast at the hotel then day tour Pachino, Porto Paolo and Marzamemi. These are three small fishing villages off the beaten path with lots of history and spectacular sites. We will enjoy a nice late lunch in Mazarmemi right in the piazza.
May 22
Day to relax in Avola and pack. Farewell dinner.
May 23
Depart for the airport. Start planning next trip to Sicily.
